Wraparound Supports
Our wraparound services provide effective support to learners. This is important because returning to learning can be daunting for someone who hasn’t been in a learning environment for some time. Our services ensure that people can make progress. Our distinctive wraparound approach is key to this.
Our learners share their experience.
Testimonials
Digital Inclusion
An Cosán is leading the way equipping adults across Ireland with the digital skills and confidence to participate fully in society. This includes free online assessment tools we developed to measure a user’s digital skills and competence, and programmes to help upskill learners on technology.
Early Years Education & Care
By providing places for their children, parents are supported to engage in further education and training opportunities, enabling parents to develop a range of skills and knowledge. Parents can focus on their studies knowing their children are receiving the best education and care.
Counselling
Adults returning to learning often find they face, and want to talk through, old fears and challenges that resurface. Our caring counsellors provide support and a listening ear to people when they need to talk something through.
Financial Support
We know going to college can be an exciting but expensive experience. We also know one of the biggest barriers people face in accessing education is financial. Many of our courses are free of charge, and for others we offer phased payment options. We also have a small Bursary Fund available for individual learners, as well as a guide to other funding options.
Learning Support
Tutors provide a one-to-one service to learners, especially those who need additional help with their coursework and assignments. There is online IT support during classes; this is from an IT moderator available to assist learners. We provide resources for online learning, including both software and hardware solutions. We also lend laptops to low-income learners.
An Cosán’s holistic, learner-centered approach puts you, the learner, at the heart of all we do. We provide ‘a place of hearth and home’ and know that our learners’ basic needs must be met before they can excel in their studies
